A Walk In The Woods with Heirloom Christmas Ornaments

This is a found object which was hand painted by Dr. Lane Brigham, a well-known carver from Mount Hermon, Louisiana. He is the husband of Rocky Springs Vintage’s shop owner, Gail. Originally painted for Chimneyville in Jackson, the piece is one of 25 ornaments or desk decorations. The ornament measures 3" x 3-1/2”. The ornament has clouds on the second side. The piece of tupelo wood was a throwaway from his carving table.

He has won multiple awards for his work, including 11 Best of Show Awards at the New Orleans Wildfowl Carvers and Collectors Guild, The Cajun Heritage Festival in Larose, and the South Louisiana Wildfowl Carving Competition in Houma, Louisiana. South Louisiana carving competitions are nationally known for the quality of workmanship among exhibitors.
