Chimneyville Craft Festival Celebrates Excellence

“Celebrating Excellence” is the theme for the 40th annual Chimneyville Crafts Festival to be held December 1-3 at the Mississippi Trade Mart in Jackson and featuring members of the Craftsmen’s Guild of Mississippi. The Festival will feature approximately 170 booths of traditional and contemporary craft works in wood, pottery, glass, fiber, metal, basketry, jewelry, and more offered for sale by the artisans who created them.

Established in 1976, the Chimneyville Crafts Festival serves as an important revenue source for the individual artisans who exhibit and sell their work and the largest annual fundraiser for the Craftsmen’s Guild of Mississippi, the private, nonprofit organization that works year round to promote, educate and preserve high standards for craft. In addition, sales tax revenues, hotel, food, gas and other expenditures, are estimated to provide a $1.1 million economic boost to the local community each year. Chimneyville was named “Best Festival in Mississippi” in 2011 by the Mississippi Tourism Association, AAA Travel Treasure in 2012 by Southern Traveler Magazine and a Top 20 Best Event in Southeast numerous times.
